Words from Psalm 43:5
The psalmist is asking himself a very honest question.
He then exhorts himself and says, ‘Hope in God For I shall yet praise Him, the help of my countenance and my God.’
We all could stand to take some of this to heart.
Yes we need to be aware of our internal state, but rather than moping or feeling sorry for ourselves, we need to tell our souls to get with it and get re-focused on God.
Why? Because the answer to our need does not come from a pity party but from taking our eyes off of ourselves and fixing our eyes on the Lord. He is the one who can and will give us the break throughs we need!
