North Topsail Beach, North Carolina

I did a road trip today to Topsail Island, North Carolina, and specifically to North Topsail Beach.

I drove down US Route 17 from northeast NC, where I live. The drive through Jacksonville was pain free, and then another 10 or so miles south of Jacksonville, turned on a side road, went 10 miles or so, over the causeway bridge and voila, there I was.

The beach was peaceful, unspoiled, wide and beautiful. The beach houses on either side of the road were nice looking places and the condos also were very attractive.  I didn’t drive as far south on the island as the town of Topsail Beach, but there mostly beach houses and few shops. Over on the mainland there were plenty of stores for groceries, etc.

Here are a bunch of photos I took of the beach. Enjoy them. I was there late morning. The water was beautiful!

That surfer coming in on that little wave looks like he is sad it wasn’t a huge wave. Great set, Karl.
