We spent a couple of hours in the old city center enjoying the sights, smells and sounds of the very old Italian city, Padova. Many of the buildings in this photo set date back to the 1200s and 1300s. Among the photos is Palazzo della Ragione with frescoes decorating the inside walls and a horse statue inside. It was a town hall building that was erected in the middle ages. Also, the University of Padova which dates back to the 1200s, now a modern world class center of research and studies.
We also saw the Piazza delle Erbe, one of the largest, daily, open air food and miscellaneous markets in Europe.
And then we had the treat of driving through the Italian Alps on our way back to Munich. Beautiful mountains, rivers, and vineyards. Enjoy this set!
